Change in Ownership
Posted by Gerry Brinkman (for James Young) on 2005-03-28 12:05:33

After participating in this community for ten years, I have decided that I have done all that I can.

It has become clear to me that I am no longer effective in achieving the goals that ACTDR had originally set out to reach. Combine this with the demand of a new job and some disconcerting health developments, the only option left for a strong and viable ACTDR is for me to leave. Technically I could stay and do absolutely nothing, however, that would not benefit ACTDR whatsoever.  I could "hire" someone to manage the operations of the organization, however, again, I feel strongly that the person involved with the direction of ACTDR should have enough control to manage it effectively.  To this end I will need to pass on ownership of the group to someone else.

As of April 1 2005, ownership of ACTDR will transfer to Scott Balmos.  Scott has been around ?ACTD? for almost as long as I have, so he knows the ropes.

I would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during both my tenures as GM of ST:ACTD and the growing pains of creating a new dynamic organization.  Look at all the other organizations that have followed suit by branching into different genres of RPGs.  I would like to thank everyone for standing by me during troubling times when we were questioned at how we ran this organization.  If you look around you will see we are just as strong, if not stronger, than we were before.  Diversity is the key.

The main goal of ACTDR for this year was to grow it?s membership, potentially adding only one more RPG, however, this will be left to Mr. Balmos to decide.

I would love to be able to thank everyone individually in this email...but really...I would have to type up two pages worth of names...every single person that is a member of ACTDR does contribute something to the community that binds us all.  It used to be just a Star Trek community, but we are now a stronger community with many diverse genres to offer.

It has been an honour and a pleasure.
